Why Run This Meeting?

This meeting is to encourage teams to have weekly meetings on what went well, what could have gone better and how to improve for the following week. This is a great way to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that any potential problems are caught early on.

How Long, How Often, and Who's Invited?

This meeting should last for 30 minutes and occur on a weekly basis. Everyone on the team should be invited to this meeting. Send a calendar invite for the meeting and ensure that you include an agenda for the meeting in the invite so that people can prepare.

What to talk about in a Weekly Team Meeting?

1. What went well?

This is a great way to start off the meeting on a positive note. It allows everyone to share what they felt went well over the past week and gives recognition where it is due. Allow people to speak freely and remind people that they are not being judged on their responses.

2. What could have gone better?

This topic allows for constructive criticism and gives everyone a chance to voice any concerns they may have. It is a great way to identify any potential problems and brainstorm solutions. If a team member takes too long to share, they should be prompted. If a team member is reticent to share, they should be asked to privately share in a follow up email.

3. Anything feel more difficult than it should?

This is a great way to identify any areas where people are struggling. It can help to provide more clarity on difficult tasks or to identify areas where more training may be needed. If a team member takes too long to share, they should be prompted. If a team member is reticent to share, they should be asked to privately share in a follow up email.

4. Do we have any blockers?

This is a way to identify any potential roadblocks that may be preventing the team from being productive. It is a great way to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that any potential problems are caught early on.

5. From 1-10 how was your week overall?

This is a great way to get a quick overview of how everyone is doing. It can help to identify any areas where people are struggling and may need more support.

6. What's your song recommendation for the week?

This is a great way to end the meeting on a positive note. It allows everyone to share a song that they enjoyed over the past week and helps to foster a positive team environment.
