We’re rebranding: introducing Hypercontext 👩‍🚀

We're saying goodbye to Soapbox and hello to a new era. Learn about our rebrand to Hypercontext, why, and how it will affect users.

We’re so excited to finally share that we’re rebranding our company and app to Hypercontext.

Everything will be predictably found on hypercontext.com starting June 11. 🥳

Following this change, there will be many future product updates that we think will elevate the Soapbox experience tremendously.

But first, I wanted to take a moment and share some context.

Why change our name from Soapbox?

When Soapbox launched 11 years ago, it was a totally different product. We provided a platform for employees to share ideas with leadership and rally for change at their companies. Soapbox was the perfect metaphor.

Over more than a decade later, we’ve changed a lot. Every customer feedback call, and product and marketing tweak subtly changed the landscape in which we were operating.

Because of these changes and feedback from our customers (you), we realized that organized, productive, and collaborative meetings are the future of work.

Here’s the thing: people don’t want to listen to someone soapbox in a meeting. Instead, they want to participate and have their voice heard.

It’s not one voice or idea above the others. It’s about creating spaces for everyone’s voice while respecting everyone’s time.

That’s why we think it’s time that we realigned our brand to represent what we do.

Why Hypercontext?

While we spend a lot of time talking about meetings (or a particular type of meeting), it’s important to understand that the meeting is just the medium. We care much more about who we’re talking to: the manager.

The manager calls the meeting, runs the meeting, and is ultimately responsible for the purpose behind the meeting. Which is why we exist—to help managers achieve their purpose at work.

Meetings are a collaborative space for managers and their teams to address roadblocks, align on goals, and build trust. If the rise of remote work this past year has shown us anything, it’s how important it is that when teams meet, they do it with purpose.

Teams rely on meetings as their primary communication tool because they are effective in fostering collaboration, communication, culture, alignment, accountability, psychological safety, and rapport—even though we love to hate them.

For all those reasons meetings have become the most used and mightiest tool in the experienced manager’s toolbelt.

We believe the difference between good meetings—good companies—and great ones boils down to context.

Sharing, gathering, adding, or receiving that missing piece of context can take feedback from insulting to exciting. It can take accountability from frustrating to empowering. From confused to aligned. From ignored to informed…You get the idea.

In the information age the missing link is often… Information. And you can fix that with context.

The hyper in Hypercontext is our commitment to go above and beyond. We promise to help you add structure, strategic goals for your company and your team, and more productivity to your meetings. We’ll help you connect the dots to empower your people.

What does this mean for existing users?

Don’t worry, we’ve done all the work.

Your app will continue without interruption, though the logo and colors will change (they’re more fun, we promise).

In a few weeks, you might notice your URLs will have changed from {{org_name}}.soapboxhq.com to {{org_name}}.hypercontext.com. If you forget, we’ll redirect you automatically. But we suggest you update those bookmarks when you get a chance.

But wait! You have one more job. 🧐

Let us know what you think.

Our customers have taken us this far and we look forward to seeing where we go next.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates.

Reach out whenever,

Brennan, Graham, and the Hypercontext team
