GlaxoSmithKline is a world leading research-based pharmaceutical company devoted to discovering and developing new and innovative medicines and vaccines for Canadians and people around the world.

We asked Salman Ahmed, business development associate at GSK to share with us why they decided to use SoapBox as their idea management tool.

What problem you are trying to solve?

GSK Canada was looking for a crowdsourcing platform to support an internal ideation initiative to help us better serve customer needs while improving healthcare in Canada. The tool would give a voice to each employee of the organization and allow them to connect with senior management.

Why did you choose SoapBox?

Of the many tools that were evaluated, we felt that SoapBox would give us the best shot at success. The platform itself is clean and simple, but has lots of features that minimize barriers to use – a key success factor to any crowdsourcing initiative. We also felt that the customer support SoapBox was willing to provide was unparalleled by any competitor, and so far, we haven’t been proven wrong – the staff has really dedicated themselves to ensuring our initiative is a success!

Why were you interested in a tool like SoapBox?
Our goal with Smart + Connected Communities is to help transform communities to interconnected networks of people, data, process, and things in order to achieve the highest levels of economic, social, and environmental sustainability, and dramatically advance the municipality’s competitiveness in a rapidly changing global landscape. As world populations shift, community leaders are pressed for answers to related problems: security, transportation, healthcare, education, energy, etc. However, the most prevalent problems of the citizens are sometimes not obvious. SoapBox allows municipal leaders to connect with its constituents to validate their own hypothesis and to identify other pressing matters. Leveraging social media and crowd sourcing for ideation will allow us our municipal customers to identify issues that matter, and that together, we can do amazing things to address these real world challenges and create a more sustainable environment.

Why did you Choose SoapBox?
We chose SoapBox to bring conversation and engagement, productivity, and innovation to the centre of every Smart + Connected Community.
